Aganippe

Aganippe is the name of a fountain and the naiad (a Crinaea) associated with it in Greek mythology. Aganippe was the daughter of Ternessus. The well is in Boeotia, near Thespiae, at the base of the mountain Helicon. It was created by the hooves of Pegasus and was associated with the Muses as a source of poetic inspiration.

Aganippe, in der griechischen Mythologie die Tochter des Flussgottes Permessos oder Termessos, war die Nymphe der Quelle Aganippe auf dem Berg Helikon. Diese Quelle war, wie die Hippokrene, den Musen heilig, denn der Genuss ihres Wassers förderte die Genialität der Dichter. Mit Akrisios bekam sie Danae.

Aganippe (zwane też Hippokrene) - w mitologii greckiej źródło w Boecji w gaju w podnóża góry Helikon. Wody źródła wytrysły z ziemi pod wpływem uderzenia kopyta Pegaza. Źródło było poświęcone muzom, ponieważ pobudzało natchnienie. Od nazwy źródła muzy nazywano czasem aganippidami.
