Agamemnon

Agamemnon (Greek: "very resolute") is one of the most distinguished of the Greek heroes. He is the son of King Atreus of Mycenae and Queen Aerope, and brother of Menelaus. Because of the antiquity of the sources, it is not clear whether Agamemnon is a historical or mythical figure. In alternative traditions Agamemnon is said to be the son of Pleisthenes (son of Atreus) and Aerope, or of Pleisthenes and Cleolla, daughter of Dias, making him the grandson, rather than the son, of Atreus. [1]

Agamemnon (en grec ancien  / Agamémnôn, « immuable, obstiné »), l'un des héros de la guerre de Troie, fils du roi Atrée de Mycènes (ou d'Argos) et de la reine Érope, et frère de Ménélas. D'autres sources en font le fils de Pléisthénès (le fils ou père d'Atrée), que l'on dit avoir été le premier mari d'Érope. Agamemnon eut trois filles, Iphigénie, Crysothémis et Électre (=Laodicé), et un fils, Oreste, qu'il eut avec Clytemnestre.

Agamemnon war nach der griechischen Mythologie König von Mykene. Er war der Sohn des Atreus (der Atride) und der Aerope. Nachdem er den ersten Mann von Klytaimnestra getötet hatte, nahm er diese zur Frau. Mit ihr war er Vater der Iphigenie, der Elektra, des Orestes und der Chrysothemis. Als Oberbefehlshaber der Griechen führte er die griechischen Fürsten gegen Troja.
