|calling_code=See list |}} The African Union (abbreviated AU in English, and UA in its other official languages) is a union consisting of 54 African states. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established on 9 July 2002, the AU was formed as a successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). The most important decisions of the AU are made by the Assembly of the African Union, a semi-annual meeting of the heads of state and government of its member states. The AU's secretariat, the African Union Commission, is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Die Afrikanische Union (Abkürzung AU; englisch African Union, französisch Union africaine) ist eine Internationale Organisation, die 2001/2002 die Nachfolge der Organisation für Afrikanische Einheit (OAU) angetreten hat und sich für Kooperation auf allen Gebieten einsetzen soll. Geplant ist unter anderem ein Afrikanischer Gerichtshof. Sitz der Organisation ist Addis Abeba (Äthiopien) und damit in einem Staat, der als einer der ersten des afrikanischen Kontinents zum Völkerbund und dann als Gründungsmitglied zu den Vereinten Nationen gehörte. Mitgliedstaaten der AU sind alle Staaten Afrikas – zurzeit 53 – außer Marokko, das wegen des Konfliktes um die Demokratische Arabische Republik Sahara 1984 aus der Vorgängerorganisation OAU ausgetreten und an einer Mitgliedschaft in der AU zurzeit nicht interessiert ist. Die Zusammenarbeit mit Mauretanien und Guinea ist seit 2008 wegen der dortigen Militärputsche suspendiert. 2009 wurde auch die Mitgliedschaft Madagaskars nach der Machtübernahme Andry Rajoelinas ausgesetzt und 2010 erfolgte die Suspendierung Nigers nach einem Militärputsch.

L’Union africaine (UA) est une organisation d'États africains créée en 2002, à Durban (Afrique du Sud). Elle a remplacé l'Organisation de l'unité africaine (OUA) en 2002. La mise en place de ses institutions (Commission, Parlement panafricain et Conseil de paix et de sécurité) a eu lieu en juillet 2003 au sommet de Maputo (Mozambique).

Afrikanska unionen (AU) är ett fördragsbundet samarbete mellan 49 afrikanska självständiga och suveräna stater, samt Västsahara. Alla afrikanska stater utom Eritrea, Guinea, Madagaskar och Marocko är medlemmar i unionen. Afrikanska unionen etablerades den 9 juli 2002 genom att samarbetet inom Organisationen för afrikansk enhet (OAU) utvidgades. Unionens högkvarter ligger i Addis Abeba i Etiopien.

Unia Afrykańska (UA, (ang. African Union, fr. Union africaine) -  organizacja międzynarodowa o charakterze politycznym, wojskowym i gospodarczym, obejmująca swym zasięgiem wszystkie państwa afrykańskie (oprócz Maroka) powołana w miejsce Organizacji Jedności Afrykańskiej 9 lipca 2002 roku na szczycie w Durbanie.
