Advanced Data Communication Control Procedures
In telecommunication, Advanced Data Communication Control Procedures (or Protocol) (ADCCP) is a bit-oriented data link layer protocol used to provide point-to-point and point-to-multipoint transmission of data frames that contain error control information.ADCCP is an ANSI standard derived from IBM's synchronous data link control (SDLC) and is virtually identical to the ISO high level data link control (HDLC) standard.ADCCP has 3 main modes - NRM (Normal Response mode akin to SDLC), ABM (Asyncronous Balanced mode - akin to HDLC) and ARM (Asynchronous Response mode)
