Aden ( ; ) is a seaport city in South Yemen, located by the eastern approach to the Red Sea (the Gulf of Aden), some 170 kilometres east of Bab-el-Mandeb. Its population is approximately a million people. Aden's ancient, natural harbour lies in the crater of a dormant volcano which now forms a peninsula, joined to the mainland by a low isthmus. This harbour, Front Bay, was first used by the ancient Kingdom of Awsan between the 5th and 7th centuries BCE. The modern harbour is on the other side of the peninsula.

Aden (de l'arabe: عدن ) est une ville du Yémen, située à l'est du détroit Bab el Mandeb peuplée d'environ 600 000 habitants. C'est aussi un port naturel, construit sur un ancien site volcanique, déjà utilisé par le royaume antique d'Awsan entre les V et VII  siècles avant JC.

Aden är en hamnstad i Jemen. På denna plats uppstod den första bosättningen någon gång mellan 400-talet f.Kr. och 600-talet f.Kr.. Staden består av två delar: Hamnstaden (Little Aden), som är den moderna staden, och Madinat ash-Sha'b, som är den gamla staden och där regeringskvarteren funnits. Förorterna Khormaksar och Sheikh Othman ligger norr om den gamla staden, och emellan dessa två förorter ligger Adens internationella flygplats Khaur Maksar, en tidigare RAF-bas.
