Adamite
This article is about the mineral, for the religious sect see Adamites. Adamite is a zinc arsenate hydroxide mineral, Zn2AsO4OH. It is a mineral that typically occurs in the oxidized or weathered zone above zinc ore occurrences. Adamite is usually yellow in color, but tints of green occur due to inclusion of copper substitutions in the mineral structure. Olivenite is a copper arsenate that is isostructural with adamite and there is considerable substitution between zinc and copper resulting in an intermediate called cuproadamite. Manganesecobalt, and nickel also substitute in the structure. An analogous zinc phosphate, tarbuttite, is known.

Adamin
Adamin ist ein eher selten vorkommendes Mineral aus der Mineralklasse der wasserfreien Phosphate mit fremden Anionen. Es kristallisiert im orthorhombischen Kristallsystem mit der chemischen Zusammensetzung Zn2[OH|AsO4] und entwickelt vorwiegend kurze bis lange, prismatische Kristalle oft in Form einer Doppelpyramide (Oktaeder). Seine Farbe variiert zwischen farblos, gelb, gelbgrün, grün, rosa und violett.

Adamite
L'adamite è un minerale costituito da idrossido di zinco arseniato. Il nome del minerale è stato attribuito in onore del mineralogista francese Gilbert Joseph Adam (1795-1881). L'olivenite ha composizione chimica simile all'adamite dove compare il rame al posto dello zinco, intermedia fra le due è la varietà cuproadamite. Si conosce un analogo fosfato di zinco che prende il nome di tarbuttite.
