Adagio is the third album by singer
Jade Villalon of
Sweetbox. It was released in 2004. There are two different versions of the album. One was released in
Japan and the other was released in
Europe,
Korea and
Taiwan. Adagio debuted at #3 in Japan. Adagio sees new sounds of music that were left out of Sweetbox when Tina left, like R&B, Rap, and Hip-Hop, although it keeps the pop and dance sound which Sweetbox are famous for, with guest vocalist RJ bringing rap to many songs on the album. Also, Adagio may be the most classically influenced album, with almost every song sampling a classical piece. Lyrically, this album is Jade's deepest yet, taking on themes of depression and suicide. There are also a handful of more bright, 'Life Is Cool' songs in the album as reminders to keep trying and enjoy life.
