Acta Apostolicae Sedis
The Acta Apostolicae Sedis (literally "Acts of the
Apostolic See" in
Latin) is a periodical that serves as the official
gazette of the
Holy See and of the
Vatican City State. It is published nominally on a monthly basis even if it appears irregularly. It contains the principal public documents issued by the
Pope, directly or through the departments of the
Roman Curia and also lists of Roman appointments. It was begun in
1895, under the title of
Acta Sanctae Sedis. Like its predecessor it is an organ of the Holy See to the extent that all documents printed in it are "authentic and official".
