Emergency department
An emergency department (ED), also known as accident & emergency (A&E), emergency room (ER), or casualty department is a medical treatment facility specialising in acute care of patients who present without prior appointment, either by their own means or by ambulance. The emergency department is usually found in a hospital or other primary care center.

Notaufnahme
Die Notaufnahme (auch Rettungsstelle, Notfallaufnahme, Notfallambulanz oder Notfallstation) ist eine Anlaufstelle im Krankenhaus zur Akutversorgung und ist Teil der Notfallmedizin. Jedes Krankenhaus (Ausnahme: Privatkliniken, Rehabilitations-Krankenhäuser) verfügt über eine Notaufnahme, die rund um die Uhr geöffnet ist und in der medizinische Hilfe geleistet wird.

Accueil et traitement des urgences
L'accueil et le traitement des urgences (ATU) est une des fonctions des centres hospitaliers, publics ou privés ; il concerne l'accueil des malades et de blessés se présentant spontanément ou amenés par des ambulances ou véhicules de prompt-secours des sapeurs-pompiers (voir l'article aide médicale urgente). Le rôle d'une structure d'urgences est accueillir sans sélection vingt-quatre heures sur vingt-quatre, tous les jours de l'année, toute personne se présentant en situation d'urgence, y compris psychiatrique, et la prendre en charge, notamment en cas de détresse et d'urgence vitales.

Szpitalny Oddzial Ratunkowy
Szpitalny Oddział Ratunkowy - jednostka organizacyjna szpitala i systemu Państwowego Ratownictwa Medycznego, utworzona w celu udzielania świadczeń opieki zdrowotnej osobie w stanie nagłego zagrożenia zdrowotnego.
Działania szpitalnego oddziału ratunkowego polegają na (wg. )
- wstępnej diagnostyce
- podjęciu leczenia w zakresie niezbędnym do stabilizacji funkcji życiowych osób, które znalazły się w stanie nagłego zagrożenia zdrowotnego
Ustawa o Państwowym Ratownictwie Medycznym z dnia 8 września 2006 roku (Art. 33 par.2 ) zobowiązała szpitale w których znajdują się SORy do zapewnienia niezwłocznego transportu sanitarnego razie konieczności do najbliższego zakładu opieki zdrowotnej udzielającego innych świadczeń opieki zdrowotnej.

Pronto soccorso
Il pronto soccorso è un'unità operativa dell'ospedale dedicata ai casi di emergenza e con spazi dedicati alla breve osservazione (Medicina d'Urgenza). Qui vengono prestate le prime cure in tutti i casi di urgenza ed emergenza (traumi, infarti, ...) e si accede quindi in modalità di ricovero urgente.
Il pronto soccorso è dotato di una o più sale di emergenza, sale visita, sale per la breve osservazione, sala di attesa, sportello accettazione.
Oggi il concetto di pronto soccorso è stato ormai superato dal più ampio Dipartimento d'Emergenza e Accettazione (DEA).
