Acari

Acarina or Acari are a taxon of arachnids that contains mites and ticks. The diversity of the Acari is extraordinary and its fossil history goes back to the Devonian era. As a result, acarologists (the people who study mites and ticks) have proposed a complex set of taxonomic ranks to classify mites. In most modern treatments, the Acari is considered a subclass of Arachnida and is composed of 2-3 orders or superorders: Acariformes, Parasitiformes, and Opilioacariformes. The latter is often considered a subgroup within the Parasitiformes. The monophyly of the Acari is open to debate and the relationships of the acarine orders to other arachnids is not at all clear.

Milben (Acari) sind eine Ordnung der Spinnentiere (Arachnida) im Stamm der Gliederfüßer. Milben stellen mit ca. 50.000 Arten in 546 Familien die größte Gruppe der Spinnentiere. Da sie die kleinsten Gliederfüßer (Arthropoda) sind, ist davon auszugehen, dass viele Arten noch gar nicht entdeckt wurden.

Roztocze (Acari) - liczny (ok. 30 tys. gatunków, wiele gatunków nadal nieopisanych) rząd pajęczaków, obejmujący zwierzęta od mikroskopijnych do 3-centymetrowych. Roztocze są saprofagiczne (jak np. mechowce), ale także są wśród nich pasożyty (głównie ektopasożyt). Niektóre mogą przenosić choroby lub być szkodnikami magazynowymi. Zamieszkują wszystkie strefy klimatyczne, również obszary polarne. Dostosowały się do różnych środowisk: żyją w glebie, kurzu domowym, a nawet w gorących źródłach.
