The city of Abu Ghraib (BGN/PCGN romanization: Abū Ghurayb; أبو غريب in Arabic) in the Anbar Governorate of Iraq is located 32 kilometres (20 mi) west of Baghdad's city center, or some 15 km northwest of Baghdad International Airport. It has between 750,000 and 1.5 million inhabitants. The old road to Jordan passes through Abu Ghraib. The government of Iraq created the Abu-Ghraib district in 1944.

La ville d'Abou Ghraib (أبو غريب en arabe, littéralement père du corbeau) en Irak est située à 20 km à l'ouest de Bagdad, juste au nord de l'aéroport international de Bagdad. Elle a entre 750 000 et 1,5 million d'habitants. L'ancienne route pour la Jordanie passe par Abou Ghraib. Le gouvernement d'Irak a créé le district d'Abou Ghraib en 1944.

Abu Ghuraib ( Abu Ghuraib, lokal Abu Ghraib oder Abu Ghreb; manchmal auch Abu Ghreib geschrieben) ist eine irakische Stadt, die westlich an Bagdad grenzt und zur Provinz Bagdad gehört. Die Einwohnerzahl liegt zwischen 750.000 und 1,5 Millionen.Die Stadt liegt nord-nordwestlich des internationalen Flughafens von Bagdad auf der Höhe des alten Stadtzentrums an der alten Straße nach Jordanien.Das berüchtigte Abu-Ghuraib-Gefängnis machte die Stadt schon zu Zeiten Saddam Husseins international bekannt.

Abu Ghraib è una città irachena situata 20 km. a ovest di Baghdad, poco a nord dell'aeroporto internazionale. Conta, incluso il distretto di cui è capoluogo dal 1944, circa un milione e mezzo di abitanti. Il suo nome significa letteralmente padre del corvo. Un tempo era un importante crocevia sulla vecchia strada in direzione della Giordania.

Abu Ghraib (أبو غريب, Arabisch voor Vader van de raaf) is een Iraakse stad die ongeveer 20 km ten westen van Bagdad ligt, net boven het internationale vliegveld. De stad heeft tussen de 750.000 en 1,5 miljoen inwoners. Het aantal inwoners is moeilijk te bepalen vanwege de slechte infrastructuur en de informatie die er naar buiten komt vanwege de steden die erg afgelegen liggen.
