Absyrtus

Absyrtus, or Apsyrtus (Greek ), was in Greek mythology the son of Aeëtes and a brother of Medea and Chalciope. His mother is variously given: Hyginus calls her Ipsia, Apollodorus calls her Idyia, Apollonius calls her Asterodeia, and others Hecate, Neaera, or Eurylyte. When Medea fled with Jason, she took her brother Absyrtus with her, and when she was nearly overtaken by her father, she murdered her brother, cut his body into pieces and strewed them on the road, so that her father might thus be delayed by gathering the limbs of his child. Tomi, the place where this occurred, was believed to have derived its name from temno (, "cut").

Absyrtos (auch Apsyrtos, Apsyrt, Apsyrtides) war eine Gestalt aus der griechischen Argonautensage. Er war der Sohn des Königs Aietes von Kolchis und der Nymphe Asterodeia (oder Eurylyte). Seine beiden Halbschwestern hießen Medea und Chalkiope. Der Sage zufolge verfolgte Absyrtos, der noch ein Kind war, auf Geheiß des Vaters seine Schwester Medea. Diese hatte Jason und den Argonauten zum Goldenen Vlies verholfen und flüchtete mit ihnen. Nach langer Reise holte Absyrtos die Diebe ein. Medea überredete mit List ihren Bruder zu Verhandlungen und Iason tötete ihn aus dem Hinterhalt. Medea zerschnitt den toten Körper von Absyrtos und warf ihn ins Meer. Aus den abgeschnittenen Teilen entstanden die Inseln des Apsyrtos - die Apsyrtiden. (heute Insel Lošinj in Kroatien)

Absyrtos albo Apsyrtos - w mitologii greckiej brat Medei. Uciekając wraz z Jazonem przed swoim ojcem Ajetesem, królem Kolchidy, Medea poćwiartowała brata i wrzuciła jego ciało do morza. Ajetes wstrzymał pościg, nakazując zebranie szczątków syna, aby urządzić mu godny pogrzeb.

Apsirto (in greco , in latino Absyrtus, -i), conosciuto anche come Assirto o Absirto, è un personaggio della mitologia greca. Era figlio di Eete, re della Colchide, e fratello di Medea. Venne assassinato dalla sorella per aiutare Giasone a fuggire dalla Colchide.
