Abomey
Abomey is a city in the Zou Department of Benin, formerly the capital of the ancient kingdom of Dahomey, including the Republic of Dahomey (1960–1975) which became modern-day Benin. The kingdom was established about 1625. The commune covers an area of 142 square kilometres and as of 2002 had a population of 78,341 people.

Abomey är en stad i Benin och hade 66 984 invånare 2006. Hela kommunen hade en befolkning på 87 941 invånare 2006, på en yta av 142 kvadratkilometer. Staden är administrativ huvudort för departementet Zou.

Abomey
Abomey - miasto w południowym Beninie; założone w poł. XVII wieku jako stolica Dahomeju. Dawna stolica królestwa Abomey (Fon), budowana przez prawie 3 wieki (lata 1625-1900). Zamieszkane obecnie przez ok. 55 tys. mieszkańców.

Znajdują się tu ruiny pałaców królewskich wpisane na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO. Każdy z kolejnych władców stawiał sobie nowy pałac na tym samym miejscu, ogrodzony glinianym murem, zachowując relikty poprzedniej budowli.
