Aberystwyth (, , ) is a historic market town, administrative centre and holiday resort within Ceredigion, Wales. Often colloquially known as Aber, it is located at the confluence of the rivers Ystwyth and Rheidol.

Aberystwyth [] ist ein walisisches Seebad mit 11.607 Einwohnern (2001) an der Cardigan Bay. Die Stadt ist der Hauptort der Grafschaft Ceredigion. Der walisische Name der Stadt bedeutet „Mündung (des Flusses) Ystwyth“. Die Einheimischen nennen ihre Stadt oft nur „Aber“.

W czasie roku akademickiego liczba mieszkańców miasta zwiększa sie do 20 tys mieszkańców. Miasto to miało być w czasach średniowiecznych stolicą Walii.

Uzdrowisko i miejscowość wypoczynkowa. Znajduje się tu uniwersytet (zał. 1872), walijska biblioteka narodowa oraz ruiny zamku z XII wieku.
