Abergavenny

Abergavenny , meaning Mouth of the River Gavenny, is a market town in the principal area of Monmouthshire, Wales.It is 24 km (15 miles) west of Monmouth. Situated at the confluence of a tributary stream called the Gavenny and the River Usk, it is almost surrounded by two mountains - the Blorenge (1674 m) and the Sugar Loaf (598 m) - and five hills - the Skirrid Fawr, the Skirrid Fach, the Deri, the Rholben and Mynydd Llanwenarth. The town is situated just south of the Black Mountains, Wales, part of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Abergavenny es un pueblo que está en el Condado de Monmouthshire, en Gales. Está en el condado histórico del mismo nombre.Esta comunidad se encuentra en la confluencia de los ríos Usk y Gavenny. Abergavenny también es conocida como Abergafenni, o también Y Fenni. Abergavenny (kymriska: Y Fenni) är en marknadsstad i Monmouthshire i Wales. Den ligger omkring 23 kilometer väster om Monmouth, vid platsen där det lilla vattendraget Gavenny rinner ut i floden Usk. Staden är nästan helt omgiven av höga berg. Den hade under medeltiden en stadsmur på grund av närheten till gränsen mot England, och det finns rester av ett slott, som byggdes kort tid efter normandernas erövring där.
