Abdul Rashid Ghazi

Abdul Rashid Ghazi (; ca. 1964−July 10 2007) was a Pakistani cleric, son of Maulana Muhammad Abdullah and younger brother of Abdul Aziz Ghazi. He was descended from Sadwani clan of Mazari tribe in the town of Rojhan at the border of southern Punjab and Balochistan.Abdul Rashid Ghazi was killed in "intense crossfire" after Pakastani troops stormed the building he and his militants had been using. He is laid to rest at Madrassah Abdullah, Basti Abdullah near Rojhan Mazari in Central Pakistan. Abdul Rashid Ghazi vowed to die in his Islamabad mosque rather than surrender -- a pledge he kept when he was cut down in intense crossfire after troops stormed the building. Since the mosque came under siege a week ago, Ghazi repeatedly said that he would rather be "martyred" than give in to the government.

Abdul Rashid Ghazi (né en 1964 - mort le 10 juillet 2007 à Islamabad, Pakistan) était un islamiste radical, ancien modéré, tué dans la journée lors de l'assaut de la Mosquée rouge, par les forces pakistanaises. Les circonstances de sa mort sont obscures, selon certaines sources, il aurait été abattu par d'autres rebelles alors qu'il tentait de se rendre aux soldats pakistanais, d'autres témoignages certifient qu'il est mort dans des tirs croisés dans l'attaque de la mosquée, d'autres encore, le disent mort en réalisant un "baroud d'honneur" .

Szejk Abdul Rashid Ghazi (ur. 1964 – zm. 10 lipca 2007) – radykalny islamski duchowny, główny imam i kierownik obrony Czerwonego Meczetu w stolicy Pakistanu – Islamabadzie. Brat imama Abdula Aziza Ghaziego. W lipcu 2007 r., po ucieczce brata, sam objął kierownictwo nad ośmiodniowymi-walkami o Czerwony Meczet broniony przez studentów szkoły koranicznej domagających się wprowadzenia w Pakistanie,  szarijatu. Próbował negocjować z władzami możliwość swobodne opuszczenia budynku przez swoich studentów, oraz zagwarantowania, iż władze nie podejmą przeciwko nim żadnych kroków w zamian za złożenie broni. W imieniu strony rządowej, minister spraw wewnętrznych Pakistanu Aftab Chan Szerpao odrzucił stawiane przez Ghaziego, warunki.
