In the music industry, Artists and Repertoire (A&R) is the division of a record label company that is responsible for scouting and artist development. It is the link between the recording artist/act and the record label, generally to help with the artistic and commercial development of the label's artists. An A&R person is often required to handle contractual negotiations, find songwriters and record producers for the act, and schedule recording sessions. In the UK, before the rise of the Record Producer, the A&R Manager would oversee recording sessions and assume responsibility for making creative decisions relating to the recording.

Artists and Repertoire, meistens in der abgekürzten Version A&R genutzt, ist ein Begriff aus der Musikwirtschaft. Damit wird der redaktionelle Teil einer Plattenfirma bezeichnet. In der A&R-Abteilung gehen beispielsweise die Demotapes von sich bewerbenden Künstlern ein. Die A&R-Manager suchen nach neuen musikalischen Trends, welche für die Plattenfirma kommerziell verwertbar sind. A&R-Mitarbeiter treffen die Entscheidung darüber, Künstler unter Vertrag zu nehmen und sind für ihre Betreuung zuständig. Auf diese Weise geben A&R-Manager dem Plattenlabel ihr Profil.

Siglas de Artist & Repertoire. Es el responsable, dentro de la industria discográfica, del descubrimiento de nuevos talentos y vela asimismo por su desarrollo artístico, conjugando ello con la viabilidad comercial de su obra (producto) en un sello discográfico. George Martin fue, entre 1956 y 1965 el responsable de A&R de Parlophone Records en el Reino Unido y promovió en tal carácter a The Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Cilla Black y otros artistas durante la década de los 60, lo mismo había realizado previamente en la década anterior con grabaciones de humoristas como Peter Sellers y Peter Ustinov.
