ASEM

The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) was officially established in 1996 at the first summit in Bangkok. ASEM is an interregional forum which consists of the European Commission and the twenty-seven members of the European Union (EU) and the fourteen members of the ASEAN Plus Three regional grouping.The main components of the ASEM process, which has so far been loosely organized, include:-political dialoguesecurity and the economyeducation and culture or the so-called three pillars.In general, the process is considered by the parties involved to be a way of deepening the relations between Asia and Europe at all levels, which is deemed necessary to achieve a more balanced political and economic world order. The process is enhanced by the biannual meetings of heads of state, alternately in Europe and Asia, and political, economic, and cultural meetings and events at all kinds of other levels.

Le Dialogue Asie-Europe ou ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) a été créé en 1996 au sommet de Bangkok. ASEM est un forum interrégional qui regroupe d'une part la Commission européenne et les 27 membres de l'Union européenne, et d'autre part les 13 membres de l'ASEAN Plus Trois c'est-à-dire le secrétariat de l'ASEAN ainsi que la Chine, le Japon et la Corée du Sud ainsi que la Mongolie, l'Inde et le Pakistan.

アジア欧州会合（あじあおうしゅうかいごう　Asia-Europe Meeting, ASEM）はアジア（東アジア・東南アジア）と欧州における経済、政治、文化などの分野の対話と協力のための会合。1994年、シンガポールのゴー・チョク・トン (Goh Chok Tong) 首相（当時）が、アジアと欧州の関係強化を目的とする「アジア欧州サミット構想」を、フランスのエドワール・バラデュール (Edouard Balladur) 首相（当時）に提案し実現。1996年3月に第一回会合が行われ、アジア側からはASEAN7ヵ国（当時）と日本、中国、韓国が参加。欧州側からはEU加盟国15ヵ国（当時）と欧州委員会の首脳の参加でスタート。平行して外務、経済、財務、環境、移民、科学技術の閣僚級会合も行われている。
