APPLICATION, WATER RIGHT

An official request for permission to develop a source of water or to change an existing water right; includes a description of the proposed project, a map of the project, and a legal description of the property involved. The application for a water right will typically consists of the following information: (1) the total amount of water to be diverted or pumped;  (2) the rate of flow (diversion);  (3) the point of diversion or pumpage;  (4) the point or place of use;  (5) the manner of (beneficial) use; and  (6) the period of use (continuous pumpage, seasonal diversion, etc.).
