Ajyíninka Apurucayali is an indigenous language in the Arawakan family spoken along the Apurucayali tributary of the Peruvian Pachitea river. It is also known as Ashaninca, Ashéninca Apurucayali, Apurucayali Campa, Ajyéninka, Axininka Campa, and Campa. The language is not mutually comprehensible with ralted varieties of Ashéninka. It is an official language. There is 20% literacy in Ajyíninka Apurucayali and 30% literacy in Spanish, there is much bilingualism. Calling the language Campa is considered offensive.
