The Aïr Mountains (also known as the Air Massif; the name is Ayăr in tuareg and Azbin /Abzin in eastern / western hausa) is a triangular massif, located in northern Niger, within the Sahara desert. They rise to more than 6,000 ft (1,830 m).The town of Agadez in the heart of the Tuareg country is the capital of Aïr. The population of Aïr lead a nomadic life, relying essentially on camel and goats from which they take milk, meat and skins used in the production of local handicrafts. Agriculture products from oases such as Timia and Tabelot are exchanged against clothes, or salt, brought by camel caravans from the remote oases of Bilma and Fachi.

Earth's atmosphere is a layer of gases surrounding the planet Earth and retained by the Earth's gravity. It contains roughly (by molar content/volume) 78% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, trace amounts of other gases, and a variable amount (average around 1%) of water vapor. This mixture of gases is commonly known as air. The atmosphere protects life on Earth by absorbing ultraviolet solar radiation and reducing temperature extremes between day and night.

Le massif de l'Aïr (en touareg Ayar, en haoussa Azbin [est]/Abzin [ouest]), est un massif montagneux situé au Niger en Afrique, dans l'écorégion du Sahara. Das Aïr ist ein Hochgebirge im zentralen Niger (Afrika). Es besteht aus einer Kette von Bergen, die sich in Nord-Süd-Richtung bis zu 1500 Meter aus der östlich gelegenen Sandwüste Ténéré erheben. Höchster Berg ist mit 1.944 m der Mount Gréboun. Der Nordostwind weht im Schatten der Berge den Sand zu bis zu 400 m hohen Dünen auf. Vor allem auf der Westseite zerklüften zahlreiche Wadis die Berge.

Aïr - wyżyna w Nigrze w południowej części Sahary. Zbudowana jest ze skał prekambryjskich. Średnia wysokość wynosi 800 m. Przecinają ją wadi, a ponad powierzchnię wznoszą się wygasłe wulkany (najwyższy szczyt - Baguezane 1900 m n.p.m.). Porasta ją roślinność pustynna i półpustynna. Zamieszkują ją koczownicy, którzy hodują wielbłądy i bydło. Na terenie wyżyny wydobywa się rudy uranu.

Il massiccio dell'Aïr (in tuareg Ayar, in hausa Azbin [est]/Abzin [ovest]), è un massiccio montuoso che si trova nel nord del Niger, (Africa), nell'ecoregione del Sahara. Esso si trova a nord del 17° parallelo ed ha un'estensione di 70 000 km². Si presenta come un vasto acrocoro compreso tra i 500 e i 900 metri di altitudine, in cui predominano vasti pianori, intervallati da picchi isolati di natura granitica, cui spesso si sovrappongono formazioni vulcaniche recenti.
