AGRARIANS

1. Grupo de escritores estadounidenses que promulgaron, a principio de los años veinte, un programa económico y cultural para el Sur del país, basado en la agricultura, que trataba de marcar distancia con la sociedad industrial de los estados del Norte. Entre los miembros originales del movimiento, se encuentran Allen Tate, Robert Penn Warren, John Crowe Ransom y Sherwood Anderson. El movimiento agrario tuvo cierto predicamento en la literatura alemana de la época.
2. Por extensión, se utiliza el término para designar a cualquier movimiento que promueva los valores de la vida rural y la sociedad agrícola.
