Aerophilately is the branch of philately that specializes in the study of airmail. Philatelists have observed the development of mail transport by air from its beginning, and all aspects of airmail service have been extensively studied and documented by specialists.The scope of aerophilately includes:airmail postage stamps, both official and unofficialother types of labels (such as airmail etiquettes)postal documents transmitted by airpostal markings related to air transportrates and routes, particularly first flights and other "special" flightsmail recovered from aircraft accidents and other incidents (crash covers)

Aerophilatelie ist ein Sammelgebiebiet der Philatelie, dass sich mit dem Sammeln von Belegen die per Flugpost befördertet wurden und den dafür nötigen Flugpostmarken beschäftigt. Bereits kurz nach der Erfindung des Flugzeuges zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts begann man damit Post befördern zu lassen. Philatelisten interessieren sich unter anderem für diese Belege und Flugpostmarken, der Anfangsjahre, es gibt jedoch auch zahlreiche jüngere Gebiete der Aerophilatelie, wie beispielsweise die Astrophilatelie.

Aerofilatelia es la rama de la filatelia especializada en el estudio del correo aéreo, lo que incluye los sellos de correo aéreo, etiquetas de correo aéreo, documentos postales, aerogramas, matasellos, sobres aéreos de primer día, rutas y tarifas (en especial de los primeros vuelos y vuelos especiales). La aerofilatelia estudia también el correo recuperado de accidentes aéreos. La Federación Internacional de Sociedades Aerofilatélicas (FISA) es la principal organización internacional.
