ACIS
The 3D ACIS® Modeler (ACIS) is a 3D modelling kernel (or engine) owned by  Spatial Corporation (formerly Spatial Technology). ACIS is used by many software developers industries such as computer-aided design, (CAD), Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), Computer-aided engineering (CAE), Architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), Coordinate-measuring machine (CMM), 3D animation, and shipbuilding. ACIS provides software developers and manufacturers the underlying 3D modeling functionality.

For other meanings, see ACIS (disambiguation) In Ovid's Metamorphoses (xiii.750-68) Acis was the spirit of the Acis River, which flowed past Akion (Acium) near Mount Etna in Sicily. According to Ovid's poem, Acis was the son of Faunus and the river-nymph Symaethis, daughter of the River Symaethus. Acis loved the sea-nymph Galatea, but a jealous suitor, the Cyclops Polyphemus, killed him with a boulder. Galatea then turned his blood into the river Acis.

Acis und Galatea
Acis und Galatea sind Personen aus der griechischen Mythologie, die in Ovids Metamorphosen überliefert sind. Acis ist ein Sohn des Pan und der Nymphe Symäthis und liebt die Nereide Galatea. In Eifersucht erschlägt der Zyklop Polyphem Acis mit einem Fels des Ätna. Daraufhin verwandelt Galatea das aus Acis hervorströmende Blut in den Fluss, der seinen Namen trägt.

ACIS
ACIS è un software del genere de kernel per la modellazione geometrica. ACIS è usato da molti sviluppatori del software in parecchie industrie quale: Computer-Aided Design, cioè Progettazione Assistita da Elaboratore (l'acronimo inglese CAD), Computer-Aided Manufacturing, cioè Fabbricazione assistita da computer (l'acronimo inglese CAM), e CAE (dall'inglese Computer-Aided Engineering), cioè "Ingegneria assistita dal computer". ACIS si è sviluppato interamente in C++, con un'architettura di OOP che fornisce la possibilità molto robusta per modellare 3D. Il formato file è .sat

Acis
In de Griekse mythologie is Acis een riviergod, de zoon van Dionysos. Hij was oorspronkelijk een Siciliaanse jongeman, die verliefd werd op de nimf Galatea. De cycloop Polyphemus vermoordde hem uit jaloezie door hem te verpletteren onder een rotsblok, waarna Galatea Acis' bloed veranderde in een rivier.
