8 mm may refer to:
- 8mm (band), pop-rock band from Los Angeles, California
- 8 mm film, or its replacements:
- 8mm (film) – about a private detective trying to verify the authenticity of a snuff film
- 8 mm video format – a type of video recorder and tape that is primarily used in camcorders, including Video 8 and Hi 8.
- Digital8 video tape format
- Data8 – a tape drive and tape format used in backing up computer systems
- Quarter-inch cartridge – 0.315in/8 mm variant of QIC Quarter Inch tape
- 8 mm caliber, ammunition with bullet in the 8 mm (.315 in) caliber range
- 7.92x57mm Mauser "8 mm Mauser cartridge" – a rifle cartridge originating in Germany (though not designed by the Mauser company)

Der Ausdruck Acht Millimeter kann sich beziehen auf:

8 millimetri
Il formato cinematografico 8 millimetri venne introdotto negli anni successivi alla Grande Depressione del 1929, evento che suggerì alla Kodak di proporre nuovi formati amatoriali, più economici del 16 mm.
Nel 1932 fu introdotto così l' 8 mm, come anche viene chiamato. La pellicola vergine era sempre larga 16 mm ma il passo della perforazioni era la metà della pellicola 16 mm vera e propria. Veniva impressionata due volte, dapprima su un lato, poi, ribaltando la bobina, sull'altro lato. Il laboratorio di sviluppo provvedeva poi a tagliare il film per tutta la sua lunghezza così da ottenere un'unica bobina di film 8 mm. Proprio in ragione di tale doppia esposizione, l'otto millimetri fu anche chiamato "doppio 8".

8MM is een film waarbij snuff het thema is. Een privé-detective, Tom Welles (Nicolas Cage) onderzoekt de herkomst van een snuff-film en raakt hierdoor steeds dieper verzeild in de duistere wereld van illegale harde pornografie. Hierbij zet hij tevens zijn huwelijk en gezinsleven op het spel.
