High-Speed Downlink Packet Access
High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also dubbed 3.5G, 3G+ or turbo 3G, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 42 megabit/s. Further speed increases are available with HSPA+, which provides speeds of up to 337 Mbit/s with Release 11 of the 3GPP standards.

High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA, 3.5G, 3G+ oder UMTS-Broadband) ist ein Datenübertragungsverfahren des Mobilfunkstandards UMTS, das vom 3rd Generation Partnership Project definiert wurde. Das Verfahren ermöglicht DSL-ähnliche Datenübertragungsraten im Mobilfunknetz.

La troisième génération (3G) désigne, comme on le voit dans le tableau ci-dessous une norme de technologies de téléphonie mobile. Accessible au grand public dans certains pays d'Europe depuis 2002 (en Norvège, Autriche, Roumanie, puis en France et autres), elle s'appuie sur la norme Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), permettant des débits bien plus rapides (2Mbps prévus à maturité du réseau) qu'avec la génération précédente, le GSM.

3G, tredje generationens mobiltelefoni, ger mobiltelefontjänster med en överföringshastighet på upp till 2 Mbit/s för stationära system (med HSDPA upp till 14 Mbps). För mobila system når man upp till 384 kbit/s.

Telefonia komórkowa trzeciej generacji - rozszerzenie istniejących sieci cyfrowej telefonii komórkowej o dodatkowe usługi wykorzystujące transmisję wideo oraz transmisję pakietową (komutacje pakietów).
System telefonii trzeciej generacji (3G) umożliwia nieograniczony dostęp radiowy do globalnej infrastruktury telekomunikacyjnej za pośrednictwem segmentu naziemnego, zarówno dla użytkowników stacjonarnych jak i ruchomych. Jest systemem integrującym w zamierzeniu wszystkie systemy telekomunikacyjne (teleinformatyczne, radiowe i telewizyjne).
