Gnus ist ein vom norwegischen Programmierer Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen neu ins Leben gerufener E-Mail- und Newsreader, der unter Gnu Emacs und XEmacs läuft.

Gnus
Gnus est un client de messagerie et un lecteur de nouvelles. Sa spécificité par rapport aux autres applications de ce type est qu'elle est intégrée à l'éditeur de texte Emacs et bénéficie de toute sa puissance (saisie multi-clavier et multilingue, fonctions avancées de copier/coller, recherche d'expressions rationnelles, insertion de texte automatisée, programmation, etc). Comme Emacs, Gnus est multi-plateforme, et ne nécessite pas d'environnement graphique pour fonctionner (bien qu'il sache en tirer parti quand elle est présente).

Gnus (wymawiamy
/gnuz/) to czytnik wiadomości w edytorach GNU Emacs i XEmacs. Umożliwia czytanie i komponowanie e-maili i wiadomości grup dyskusyjnych. Dodatkowo, potrafi korzystać ze źródeł na stronach internetowych.Użytkownicy Gnusa mają do dyspozycji program, w którym e-maile i wiadomości Usenetowe są zwięźle zasymilowane, nie wspominając już o możliwości używania Emacsa do pisania e-maili.
Tak samo, jak w wyrazie GNU, litera g w Gnus jest zawsze wymawiana.
