한반도
한반도(韓半島, )는 정치지리학적으로 극동아시아에 있으며, 지형학적으로 아시아 대륙의 동북쪽 끝에 있는 반도이다. 삼면이 바다와 맞닿아 있다. 동쪽 바다는 동해(조선동해), 서쪽 바다는 황해(서해), 남쪽 바다는 남해이다. 북조선, 일본, 중국은 한반도를 조선반도라고 부른다. 한반도는 천년 이상 단일 국가에 의해 지배되어 왔으나 1948년 한반도의 남쪽과 북쪽에 별개의 정부가 세워졌다. 오늘날 휴전선 남쪽에는 대한민국이, 북쪽에는 조선민주주의인민공화국이 있다.
