蛋
蛋指的是某些陸上動物產下的卵，胚胎外包防水的殼。鳥類、爬行類以及哺乳類的鴨嘴獸和針鼴科都下蛋。在適當的溫度下，受精的蛋會在一定時候孵化，幼體用口部上方的角質物鑿開蛋殼破殼而出。蛋含豐富的蛋白質、脂肪及維生素，是重要的食品之一。常食的有雞蛋、鴨蛋、鴿蛋、鵪鶉蛋等。
