気象庁

The or JMA, is the  Japanese government's weather service. Charged with gathering and reporting weather data and forecasts in Japan, it is a semi-autonomous part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. It is also responsible for observation and warning of earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.

気象庁（きしょうちょう、Japan Meteorological Agency）は、国土交通省（旧・運輸省）の外局。気象庁の業務は、気象業務法のもとで行なわれており、この中で「気象」「地象」「水象」に関わる観測や予報などを行う事が定められている。具体的には、気象情報（天気予報など）、地震情報、火山情報、津波情報などがある。
