教授，是一種職業，多指在大學或社區學院中執教的資深教師與研究員。教授为大学教师职务的最高级别。英文是Professor，中文的教授兩字則源於「傳教授業」的字義，是中國古代就已使用的學官名稱，在中國漢代、唐代的大學中都設有此職。與英文沒有關聯。日語中則與中文同用「教授」一字來稱呼大學中的老師。
