弦楽器
弦楽器（げんがっき）（絃楽器と書かれることもあった）とは、弦に何らかの刺激を与えることによって得られる弦の振動を音とする楽器の総称である。弦の振動を得るために、弦とそれを張力をもって張っておく装置を備え、多くの場合は得られた音を共鳴させて音を拡大するるための装置を持つ。楽器分類学では弦鳴楽器と呼ぶ。
