ジェンダー

ジェンダーとは文法における性(Grammatical gender)のこと。生物学的性（Sex:the fact of being male or female）のこと。社会科学の分野において、生物学的性に対する、「社会的・文化的な性のありよう」として使われる場合がある。社会学者のイヴァン・イリイチの用語で、「セックス」とは異なる本来的な人間関係のあり方。イリイチはその喪失を批判している。 先天的・身体的・生物学的性別を示すセックス（sex）に対する、社会的・文化的性別のことを一般に日本ではジェンダーという。（この場合の「ジェンダー」という用語それ自体には、良い悪いの価値判断を含むものではない。）
