International Refugee Organization
The International Refugee Organization (IRO) was founded on April 20, 1946 to deal with the massive refugee problem created by World War II. A Preparatory Commission began operations fourteen months previously. It was a United Nations specialized agency and took over many of the functions of the earlier United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration. In 1952, its operations ceased, and it was replaced by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Japanese oiler Iro
was a fleet oiler for the Imperial Japanese Navy. A member of the Notoro-class of oilers, the ship was launched on August 5, 1922 and served Japan during the Pacific Campaign of World War II. On March 31, 1944 the ship was attacked and sunk in Palau Harbor by United States Navy aircraft carrier aircraft from the Fast Carrier Task Force during Operation Desecrate One.

Mohawk hairstyle
The mohawk (referred to in British English as a mohican) is a hairstyle in which, in the most common variety, both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the center. Though mohawk is associated mostly with punk rock subculture, today it has entered mainstream fashion. The mohawk is also sometimes referred to as an iro in reference to the Iroquois, from whom the hairstyle is derived - though historically the hair was plucked out rather than shaved.

International Refugee Organization
Die International Refugee Organization (IRO) war eine Behörde der Vereinten Nationen, die 1946 als Nachfolgeorganisation der United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) eingerichtet wurde. Sie war verantwortlich für die Fürsorge für Europäer, die durch den Zweiten Weltkrieg heimatlos geworden waren, v.a. Überlebende des Holocaust und ehemalige Zwangsarbeiter, die sog. Displaced Persons. Weiterhin organisierte die Behörde die Rückführung dieser Menschen in ihre Heimatländer bzw. ihre Auswanderung in andere Staaten. Die IRO stellte ihre Arbeit 1952 ein, nachdem sie etwa eine Million Menschen betreut hatte. Sie wurde ersetzt durch das Büro des United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Organisation internationale pour les réfugiés
L'Organisation internationale pour les réfugiés (OIR) était une agence spécialisée des Nations Unies, créée en 1946 pour gérer les flux importants de réfugiés créés par la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Elle a cessé de fonctionner en 1952 et elle a été remplacée par le Haut Commissariat des Nations unies pour les réfugiés.

Individuele Re-integratie Overeenkomst
De Individuele Reïntegratie Overeenkomst (IRO) is (in Nederland) een instrument dat aan werklozen met een UWV-uitkering wordt aangeboden om zelf de terugkeer naar werk te regelen (oftewel re-integratie), met ondersteuning van een IRO-bureau.
De invoering van de IRO op 1 januari 2004 heeft binnen de re-integratiemarkt een kleine aardverschuiving veroorzaakt. Voor die tijd werkten circa 90 re-integratiebedrijven in opdracht van het UWV. Nu zijn dat er meer dan 1600. Vooral kleine en eenmansbedrijven hebben geprofiteerd van deze regeling, die stimuleert dat er meer individueel maatwerk geleverd wordt.
