The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) was co-founded in 1973 by former astronaut Edgar Mitchell and investor Paul N. Temple to encourage and conduct research on human potentials. Institute programs include "extended human capacities," "integral health and healing," and "emerging worldviews."

Ion
An ion is an atom or molecule in which the total number of electrons is not equal to the total number of protons, giving it a net positive or negative electrical charge. The name was given by physicist Michael Faraday for the substances that allow a current to pass ("go") between electrodes in a solution, when an electric field is applied. It is the transliteration of the Greek participle ἰόν, ión, "going".

Ænima
Ænima () is the second studio album by American rock band Tool. The album was released on September 17, 1996 in vinyl format and on October 1, 1996 in Compact Disc format. The album was recorded and cut at Ocean Way, Hollywood, California and The Hook, North Hollywood, California from 1995 to 1996. On its initial release, the album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, and has since been certified triple platinum by the RIAA on March 4, 2003. As of July 7, 2010, Ænima has sold 3,429,000 copies in the US.

Institute of Noetic Sciences
Das Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS, deutsch: Institut für Noetische Wissenschaften) ist eine US-amerikanische Non-Profit-Organisation, die nach eigenen Angaben wissenschaftliche Forschung über Telepathie, Psychokinese, Hellsehen und Effekte der Meditation betreibt und sponsert. Noetisch ist vom griechischen noetós (deutsch: geistig wahrnehmbar) abgeleitet und bezieht sich hier auf ein vom Institut angenommenes intuitives Bewusstsein, das auf Wissen zugreifen können soll, das über das hinausgehen soll, was den normalen Sinnen und der Vernunft zugänglich sei.

Ion
Ein Ion [] (von altgr. bzw. ión, „gehend“) ist ein elektrisch geladenes Atom oder Molekül. Im neutralen Zustand haben Atome oder Moleküle genau so viele Elektronen wie Protonen. Die elektrische Ladung, und damit das Ion, entsteht, wenn ein Atom oder Molekül ein oder mehrere Elektronen weniger oder mehr gegenüber dem Neutralzustand hat. Ionen sind bei Elektronenmangel positiv und bei Elektronenüberschuss negativ geladen.

Ænima
Ænima est le deuxième album de Tool sorti en octobre 1996 sur le label Zoo Entertainment. Il témoigne d'un changement de bassiste et co-producteur, ainsi l'arrivée de Justin Chancellor à la basse qui faisait précédemment partie de Peach et de David Bottrill à la production, collaborateur de Peter Gabriel sur de nombreux albums du label Real World. Nouveau son donc, puissant, beaucoup d'intermèdes entrecoupants les morceaux de plus en plus longs.

Jon
En jon är en atom eller molekyl som har ett överskott eller underskott av elektrisk laddning. Den enklaste jonen är protonen (en vätejon, en positiv laddningsenhet, H+). En negativt laddad jon, som har fler elektroner i sina elektronskal än protoner i atomkärnorna, kallas för anjon eftersom den attraheras av (positivt laddade) anoder; en positivt laddad jon som har färre elektroner än protoner kallas katjon eftersom den attraheras av (negativt laddade) katoder. Större joner som består av flera atomer kallas för molekylära joner. Processen som förvandlar neutrala atomer eller molekyler till joner kallas jonisering. Ämnen som är sammansatta av positiva och negativa joner kallas salter (jonföreningar).

Jon
Jon – atom lub grupa atomów połączonych wiązaniami chemicznymi, która ma niedomiar lub nadmiar elektronów w stosunku do protonów. Obojętne elektrycznie atomy i cząsteczki związków chemicznych posiadają równą liczbę elektronów i protonów, jony zaś są elektrycznie naładowane dodatnio lub ujemnie.
Jony naładowane dodatnio nazywa się kationami, zaś ujemnie anionami. Jony mogą występować samodzielnie, w stanie wolnym (zwykle w fazie gazowej) lub tworzą tzw. pary jonowe, które mogą być luźno z sobą związane lub odwrotnie - tworzyć silne wiązania. Silnie związane pary jonowe tworzą chemiczne wiązania jonowe, obecne w wielu związkach chemicznych. Powstanie jonu z obojętnego atomu lub cząsteczki nazywamy jonizacją.
