Øresund Region
The Øresund or Öresund Region (; ) is a transnational region in northern Europe, centred on the cities of Copenhagen and Malmö. Located by the shores of the Øresund strait and connected by the Oresund Bridge, the Capital Region of Denmark and Region Zealand constitute the Danish side, while Skåne County constitutes the Swedish side. The region has a population of 3,785,429 (1 January 2012) and a population density of 181/km².

Region Oresund
Region Oresund (duń. Øresundsregionen, szwed. Öresundsregionen) - region transgraniczny, obejmujący tereny po obu stronach cieśniny Sund: większą część szwedzkiej krainy Skanii i zachodnią część duńskiej wyspy Zelandii i wyspę Bornholm. Od 2000 oba brzegi cieśniny łączy most Oresund.
Region zamieszkuje blisko 3,6 mln osób, z tego 2/3 po stronie duńskiej, a 1/3 po stronie szwedzkiej. Największe miasta tego regionu to: Kopenhaga, Roskilde, Helsingør i Rønne po stronie duńskiej oraz Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg, Ystad, Hässleholm i Kristianstad po stronie szwedzkiej.
Do 1658 region ten należał w całości do Danii, ale zgodnie z decyzjami traktatu z Roskilde z 1658 Skania weszła w skład Szwecji.

Øresundsregionen
Øresundsregionen (på svensk Öresundsregionen) er Skandinaviens største region med 3.647.492 indbyggere (1/7-2007]]), bundet geografisk sammen af Øresundsbron. Området er politisk delt mellem regeringerne i Danmark - hvor 2/3 af befolkningen bor - og Sverige.
Området omfatter Skåne og Sjælland. Vigtige byer i regionen er København, Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg og Roskilde. Landareal: 20.649 (9.622 Danm.) km². Vand: 529 (210 Danm.) km².. Befolkningstæthed (pr. 2007): 176,6 pr. km².
Et voksende samarbejde mellem erhvervsliv og myndigheder i regionen har skudt fart efter åbningen af Øresundsbroen sommeren 2000. Øresundskomiteen består af politikere på kommune- og regionnivå, og mødes jævnligt med støtte fra et permanent sekretariat.
