Opéra National de Paris is the leading opera company of France. It stages performances at the Opera Bastille and Opera Garnier in Paris.Other opera houses in Paris are the Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra-Comique and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

The Palais Garnier, also known as the Opéra de Paris or Opéra Garnier, but more commonly as the Paris Opéra, is a 2,200 seat opera house in Paris, France. A grand landmark designed by Charles Garnier in the Neo-Baroque style, it is regarded as one of the architectural masterpieces of its time.Upon its inauguration in 1875, the opera house was officially named the Académie Nationale de Musique - Théâtre de l'Opéra. It retained this title until 1978 when it was re-named the Théâtre National de l'Opéra de Paris. After the opera company chose the Opéra Bastille as their principal theatre upon its completion in 1989, the theatre was re-named as the Palais Garnier, though its more official name, the Académie Nationale de Musique, is still sprawled above the columns of its front façade. In spite of the change of names and the Opera company's relocation to the Opéra Bastille, the Palais Garnier is still known by many people as the Paris Opéra, as have all of the many theatres which have served as the principal venues of the Parisian Opera and Ballet since its founding.

L'Opéra national de Paris est un établissement public industriel et commercial français placé sous la tutelle du ministère de la Culture. Il a pour mission de rendre accessible au plus grand nombre les œuvres du patrimoine lyrique et chorégraphique et de favoriser aussi la création et la représentation d'œuvres comtemporaines. Il dispose à ce titre de deux salles : le palais Garnier (qui abrite le Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris) et l'Opéra Bastille.

Die Pariser Oper, deren offizieller Name Opéra National de Paris lautet, und ihre Vorgängerinstitute spielen durch stilprägende Uraufführungen eine bedeutende Rolle in der Operngeschichte. Die Institution wurde immer als unabgängig von ihren wechselnden Aufführungsorten betrachtet. Vor der Französischen Revolution (seit 1669) hieß die Institution Académie Royale de musique und war in die Académie Royale eingegliedert.

Opéra Garnier, ook wel Palais Garnier genoemd, is een operagebouw in Parijs, gebouwd tussen 1861 en 1875.Opéra Garnier is in 1861 ontworpen door de architect Charles Garnier in opdracht van Napoleon III. Het gebouw zou worden geopend in 1871, maar als gevolg van de Frans-Duitse oorlog werd de opening uitgesteld tot 5 januari 1875. Het interieur is rijkelijk voorzien van bladgoud, fresco's en marmer. Het plafond is in 1964 beschilderd door Marc Chagall. De stijl is neobarok, eclectisch en potsierlijk extravagant te noemen.

A Ópera Nacional de Paris (em francês Opéra national de Paris) é uma institução musical, sucessora da fundada em Paris por Luís XIV em 1669 com o nome de "Academia Real de Música" (Académie Royale de Musique). É uma das mais antigas instituições do gênero do mundo.
