Évian-les-Bains

Évian-les-Bains or Évian is a commune of France, in the northern part of the Haute-Savoie département, on the shores of Lake Geneva, opposite to Lausanne, Switzerland. It has a population of about 7,300 people.In July 1938, the Évian Conference was convened there to discuss the problem of Jewish refugees. On March 18 1962, the Évian Accords were signed there. On June 1 2003 the G8 began its 29th summit meeting in Évian.The town is home of the Evian Mineral water, that makes up the foundation of the economy together with a casino.

Évian-les-Bains (deutsch mittelalterlich: Effian) ist eine Gemeinde im Département Haute-Savoie, Frankreich. Sie liegt am Südufer des Genfersees und hat 7.800 Einwohner. Evian ist die Hauptstadt eines 15 Gemeinden umfassenden Kanton und ist von See und Bergen umgeben. Auf dem Gebiet der westlichen Nachbargemeinde Publier wird das weltbekannte Evian-Mineralwasser abgefüllt.

Evian-les-Bains to miejscowość i gmina we Francji, stolica kantonu Évian-les-Bains w regionie Rodan-Alpy, w departamencie Haute-Savoie. Miejscowość Évian-les-Bains jest położona na brzegu Jeziora Genewskiego.Według danych na rok 1990 gminę zamieszkiwało 6 895 osób, a gęstość zaludnienia wynosiła 1,607 osób/km² (wśród 2880 gmin  regionu Rodan-Alpy Evian-les-Bains plasuje się na 118. miejscu pod względem liczby ludności, natomiast pod względem powierzchni na miejscu 1570.).Miejscowość znana jest w świecie przede wszystkiem dzięki słynnej wodzie mineralnej "Évian", wydobywanej przez Société Anonyme des Eaux minérales d'Évian (od 1970 r. w grupie Danone) i rozwijanemu od początku XIX w. wodolecznictwu.
