Ägir

The Islamic Revolution's Guards (IRG) (Persian: سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی - Sepah-e Pasdaran-e Enghelab-e Islami; literally: Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution), also known as the Revolution's Guards (Pasdaran-e Enghelab پاسداران انقلاب ), or simply the Guards (Pasdaran پاسداران), is the largest branch of the Islamic Republic of Iran's military. The present Chief Commander of the Guards is Mohammed Ali Jafari, who was preceded by Yahya Rahim Safavi. Like many young Iranians during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, Iran's current president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was a member of the Guards.

Ægir is a giant and a king of the sea in Norse mythology. He seems to be a personification of the power of the ocean. He was also known for hosting elaborate parties for the gods. In Snorri Sturluson's Skáldskaparmál, Ægir is identified with Gymir and Hlér who lived on the isle of Hlésey. The prose header of Lokasenna states that his hall is a place of sanctuary lit with bright gold and where the beer pours itself.

Ägir oder Ægir (Hlér, anord. „Meer”) ist neben Wate in der germanischen bzw. nordischen Mythologie ein Name für den Riesen der See und des Bieres (Schilderung nach der Prosa-Edda).Ägir ist ein Meeresriese, der den Asen nahesteht, aber dem älteren Geschlecht der Jötunn angehört, und in der nordischen Mythologie die Züge eines Meeresgotts annimmt. Er ist der Sohn des Miskorblindi und Vater von neun Töchtern, den Ägirstöchtern (Angeyja, Atla, Eistla, Eyrgjafa, Gjálp, Greip, Imðr, Járnsaxa und Úlfrún), die verschiedene Arten von Meereswellen darstellen. (Neben diesen Namen nennt Snorri aber andere: Bára, Blóðughadda, Bylgja, Dúfa, Hefring, Himinglæva, Hrönn, Kolga und Uðr) Seine Gattin ist die Meeresgöttin Rán. Er wohnt auf der Insel, die Hlésey genannt wird und ist sehr weise.

Znany z wystawnych przyjęć, które urządzał dla bogów w swym podwodnym zamczysku.Ägir był także mężem Ran, porywającej w swe sieci marynarzy, którzy wypadli za burtę. Był także ojcem 9 dziewic fal, matek Heimdalla.

Ajdir è una piccola città situata a nord del Marocco in prossimità di Alhoceima.È stata capitale dell'effimera Repubblica del Rif dal 1921 al 1926 ad opera di Abd el-Krim.Il nome ajdir rappresenta la realizzazione in tarifit della parola berbera agadir, proveniente con molta probabilità dal punico, che significa "muro" e, per estensione, "fortezza", "granaio protetto da un muro". Lo stesso nome che, in toponomastica ricompare nella città di Agadir nel sud del Marocco, e in quella di Cadice (Spagna), anticamente Gadir.
